Girl's skin 'melted within minutes' in sun despite being covered in factor 50

A horrified mum says her little girl was left "screaming in agony" after her skin "melted within minutes" in the sun despite using factor 50 sun cream.

Jasmine Williams had covered her seven-year-old daughter in Nivea Sun Protect and Moisture before she went out to play with her brother in the garden on Monday, July 11. However, within just five minutes of going outside, she started "squealing" and shouting: "My back is on fire".

The 27-year-old parent claims the youngster then ran back into the house, at which point her back and shoulders had turned bright red and huge blisters had started to appear on her skin. Describing her daughter's ordeal as "horrific", Jasmine said: "At first I thought she was fighting with her brother but I quickly noticed the difference in her cry and she started shouting: 'My back is on fire'."
