Girl attacked at park near Bristol bus station and suffers face injuries

A teenage girl was left with facial injuries after she was assaulted at dusk in a Bristol park days before Christmas.

The 16-year-old was attacked by an unknown male in St James' Park on Saturday, December 18, who then walked off towards the bus station.

Police are appealing for witnesses.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: "Officers investigating an assault on a 16-year-old female in Bristol are asking witnesses to get in touch.

"She was in St James’ Park at about 4.45pm on Saturday, December 18 when assaulted by an unknown male. He then walked off in the direction of Bristol bus station.

"He is described as male, black and about 20-30 years old.

"The victim sustained facial injuries but did not require hospital treatment."
