Girl, 6, 'lucky to be alive' after dog 'shook her about and bit into her back'

A little girl was left with severe injuries after a dog attacked her. Angel-Mae Dawson, aged six, was playing outside her home with her eight-year-old brothers and her cousins when the dog grabbed hold of her legs.

Her parents, Jack and Amy, saw the attack unfold and got to their daughter to save her. It happened at around on 7pm on Saturday when a German Shepherd dog appeared on the street.

Dad Jack, 28, told StokeonTrentLive : “The dog went straight for my daughter. It went straight for one leg first, tried to incapacitate that one, and then went for the other one.
