A teenage girl died from meningitis after spending up to 16 hours on a hospital trolley.
Aoife Johnston, 16, was admitted to University Hospital Limerick last week suffering with the bacterial infection and despite eventually being prescribed antibiotics she deteriorated beyond recovery.
The hospital has said it will conduct an investigation.
