A 15-year-old girl who was pulled from the water off Cleethorpes beach has sadly died. Police this afternoon said that the teenager, who was one of two children rescued on Saturday evening, has died.
Humberside police said that two youngsters were airlifted to hospital just after 7.30pm on Saturday. A big search had taken place involving multiple emergency services at the time when two children were reported missing.
Both children had been reported missing at about 2pm, prompting a search that involved an HM Coastguard helicopter and RNLI lifeboat. An HM Coastguard spokesperson said a lifeboat was launched at 4pm and found the pair "some way" to sea.
