Giovanni van Bronkhorst has jetted back to the Netherlands as he waits word over his Rangers future, according to a report.
The Dutchman's future at the Light Blues is hanging in the balance with the pressure increasing further over the weekend after dropped points at St Mirren. It's a result that leaves them trailing champions Celtic by nine points at the Premiership summit going into the World Cup shutdown. The latest result comes off the back of a defeat in Perth to St Johnstone and dropped home points to Livingston in recent weeks.
Van Bronckhorst - who is due to celebrate his first anniversary in the job on Friday - is yet to have any contract with Douglas Park or Stewart Robertson claim the Daily Record. The pressure on the Ibrox boss continues to rise following the latest dropped points. Supporters already confronted James Tavernier and Co following their defeat at McDiarmid Park earlier this month. The 47-year-old expects talks during this period.

Speaking at the weekend, he said: “We are going to sit down (with the board) and speak about the last couple of months and which way to go forward. I have no fear, I never have fear.”
It is rumoured that it would cost Rangers more than £3.5million if they decide to axe the Dutchman and his backroom team.
Following his arrival at the club after taking over from Steven Gerrard he brought Dave Vos, Roy Makaay, Arno Philips and Yori Bosschaart on board. Ceri Bowley joined in the summer. His first six months in the role brought a Europa League Final appearance and a Scottish Cup triumph. They qualified for the Champions League group stages this year but exited the competition with the unwanted tag as the 'worst ever' team after six defeats from six and a -20 goal difference.
The Premiership returns next month with Rangers facing Hibs on December 15. Before that game they will take on Bundelisga side Bayer Leverkusen in a friendly.
Speaking about the Rangers boss, former striker Kenny Miller said: "I think a decision needs to be made one way or another.
“If the decision is going to go one way and Gio was to leave then this break gives you the wee moment (to decide) if you are going to stick or you are going to twist. If you are going to twist then this break gives you effectively what is a pre-season again, which we have never had mid-season.
"Even the winter break is not this length of time. If there is a new guy he is going to need a bit of time to work, and it’s a completely different way, he needs time.
"It’s a fresh voice and it could make an impact. If what I have heard is right, there's going to be between 10-14 days the players are going to have off. You have time to have discussions and what the route forward is going to be for the team."
