Giovanni van Bronckhorst planning Rangers transfer approach as boss gears up for potential spending

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst insists that the Light Blues will be equipped to pounce on potential transfers this winter.

The Light Blues boss has been addressing mounting pressure on his shoulders in the wake of his side's calamitous Champions League campaign and declining Premiership performances. His and sporting director Ross Wilson's summer recruitment has been lamented and the Dutchman says that they are prepared for potential activity when the window opens up in January.

That said, with Connor Goldson, Filip Helander, John Souttar, Tom Lawrence and Ianis Hagi all still to return from long-term issues, he is hopeful that those type of players can also provide Rangers squad options. Providing his take on pressure surrounding him and the upcoming window, he said: "Hopefully, we can welcome some injured players back by the time the window is open, so we have to be ready whatever happens.

"It's something I've always had throughout my career - the pressure to perform, the pressure to reach your standard in every game

"Of course you feel pressure, but the most pressure is the pressure I put myself under. That's something I'm used to and it gives me strength and energy to keep going forward and that's the only thing I can do."
