Giovanna Fletcher delivered a great reaction to being caught up in the snow blizzard that hit Newcastle on Tuesday afternoon, hours before she was dsue on stage at the Theatre Royal.
Celebrated author, podcast favourite and former I'm A Celebrity winner Giovanna is earning rave reviews for her star turn in Peter James thriller Wish You Were Dead. The show is the latest stage adaptation of one of acclaimed author Peter's books, following the likes of Looking Good Dead onto the Tyneside stage.
Speaking to ChronicleLive last week, Giovanna said she was very much looking forward to being back in Newcastle, having previously brought her podcast tour to the city and been here on numerous occasions to see husband Tom and his band McFly. But, one thing she probably didn't want from her stint in the Toon was to experience the wintry conditions that struck on Tuesday.
While freezing temperatures and snow flurries were forecast, the speed at which the snow took hold came as a bit of a shock to those in the city centre and surrounding area, when it hit just before 3pm.
With some down time before getting into character for Tuesday night's performance of Wish You Were Dead, Giovanna took the opportunity to do some exploring, before, like many others, being caught up in the snow.
Seeing the funny side, Giovanna sanapped a selfie and uploaded it to Instagram, along with the caption: "Newcastle, do you wanna build a snowman?"
Her nod to the famous line from DIsney film Frozen was lapped up by her many social media followers, with one of her Geordie fans responding: "Haha - welcome to the toon pet" and another replying: "I know, I live in Newcastle Upon Tyne, the morning started with blue skies and…… then the white stuff came down, ugggh"
And, giving a quintessentially Newcastle reaction to Giovanna's post, another of her Geordie followers commented: "Hope you’ve got your big coat pet"
