Giorgos Giakoumakis could be heading for a shock exit from Celtic, but fans have been asking the critical question over the Greek's contract status.
The 27-year-old has made an impact for Ange Postecoglou's side since signing with a big pedigree from Eredivise side VVV-Venlo in the summer last year. Giakoumakis was the top scorer in the Dutch top flight before arriving in Glasgow, despite his side being relegated, with the forward admitting the move to Parkhead was a key moment in his career.
It was £2.5m that the Scottish champions paid for the Greek's services on the final day of the window, however Bundesliga side Werder Bremen had actually agreed a transfer with Venlo before Postecoglou swooped in. Now it appears, according to Record Sport, that talks over fresh terms have stalled with Giakoumakis 'unhappy' with the renewed salary offered by the Hoops.

Giakoumakis signed a five-year deal on his arrival, but reportedly did take a wage cut upon his move under the promise of better terms after a successful first season. It is believed Celtic face a similar situation with defender Josip Juranovic, with both stars likely to garner big interest from clubs in January and the summer window. However, potential suitors may have to fork out a significant amount with both players on lengthy deals in Glasgow.
