Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst has addresses Ibrox icon Graeme Souness over his criticism of Alfredo Morelos - and insists the club will deal with the Colombian internally going forward.
The Dutchman made the huge call to leave Rangers ' record European goalscorer at hime while the rest of the squad flew out to Eindhoven for the crucial Champions League playoff round second leg with PSV Eindhoven, with the boss admitting there were issues with the striker's mentality and fitness. The call came in the wake of Morelos seeing red against Hibs for an elbow at Easter Road.
Following Saturday's showdown, legendary Ibrox player and manager Souness insisted the frontman must be sold urgently, with Morelos already in the final year of his contract. He insisted that Van Bronckhorst could not trust Morelos going forward this season and that if an offer came in for their talisman they should cash in.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of their showdown with PSV, Van Bronckhorst was quizzed about the comments. He said: "Everyone has their opinions. They are entitled of course. Graeme is a great man and a great manager who has Rangers in his heart.
"But as I said before, we deal with it internally and speak with Morelos and just wait to see what will happen in the coming weeks. Of course, it's a signal that he's not here and a signal I had to make not only to Morelos but also to my team."
