Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst insists he is in no rush to add or sell players with the last day of the summer transfer window fast approaching.
The Ibrox side cruised into the quarter finals of the Premier Sports Cup without a host of first-team regulars thanks to a 3-1 win over League One side Queen of the South at Ibrox. Debuting prospect Robbie Ure netted his first goal for the Ibrox top team, before Scott Arfield's double rounded off a comfortable night in Govan.
After the full-time whistle, attention quickly turned to Celtic with the first derby showdown of the season and Ange Postecoglou's side just around the corner, as Van Bronckhorst takes his squad to Celtic Park on Saturday. Before then, the Rangers boss will hope to keep the core of his squad at Ibrox with speculation over Ryan Kent and sidelined Alfredo Morelos' long-term future at the club.
There likes of free agent Ross Barkley and FC Midtjylland midfielder Evander have been tipped with a late move to Ibrox. However, Van Bronckhorst was playing his cards close to his chest when it came to potential movement in the market after the full-time whistle.
He told BBC Sportsound when asked how much business he expects to do before the end of the window: "I really don't know. It depends. We created this squad to be competitive in all competitions, domestically and in the Champions League. We achieved that, but still it is the last day and you have to be ready for whatever comes your way, and we are."
When pushed on if he expects Morelos to be a Rangers player come September 1, he said: "Yeah. Fully expect. I had a chat with Morelos on Sunday, it was a good chat. It was a good week training wise. He knows what he has to do. The first week was very good, but the season is very long."
He was then pressed on if he wanted to add, he finally added: "I'm relaxed, we have to be in these moments. Van Bronckhorst also put the focus on Celtic with a return to the Champions League just around the corner. He told Premier Sports: "Every game is huge against Celtic.
"We are coming into very demanding weeks with a lot of big games. The first big game is Saturday against Celtic.
"We have to prepare. We have three days to prepare, and you want to be involved in these type of games. We have to be ready, and we take the next few weeks game by game."
