Celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo has never been one to shy away from the public eye, from his hilarious appearances on ITV1's morning show This Morning to constantly annoying fellow celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey. And now he has issued a lengthy statement about why he is no longer filming Gordon, Gino & Fred: Road Trip.
The very successful ITV1 show has been running since 2018 and features Gordon, Gino and Fred Sirieix as they travel around different parts of the world, experiencing the food and culture. There has been a lot of speculation about the future of the programme and Gino has now confirmed he will no longer be filming the show. In a lengthy video posted to his Instagram Gino explained why he was leaving the show which included difficulties filming and complications with his contracts.
Gino also stressed his reason for not filming the show was not due to any issues with Gordon and Fred and they all remain firm friends. He said: "I have a little bit of news for you...I want you to hear it from me straight...last week I have decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred road trips. The reason is simple, nothing to do with Gordon and Fred the friendship is very strong...it is just because we can't get the dates together and when we do get the dates together sometimes they get changed and it causes a lot of problems for me...personal problems as well because when I have to change things with my family, it is always very complicated." "Also because, contracts, it starts to get very complicated, then it becomes very stressful and I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much that I would rather the friendship than getting in arguments with the contracts. I have decided not to do Gordon, Gino and Fred anymore because I want to be friends with the boys for many many years."
The celebrity chef went on to thank his fans and followers for their support. ITV have confirmed that "a brand new series of Gordon, Gino & Fred's Road Trip in Spain will be broadcast on ITV1 and ITVX later this year." and has not commented on any future series.
