Gilson Gray has signalled its commitment to the Tayside region with the opening of a new office at 2 West Marketgait, Dundee.
The move will bring together multiple teams across 4,500 sq ft of office space in the city centre.
This follows a period of growth for the law firm in the city, including the acquisition of Baillie Shepherd in October 2021, with further acquisitions being sought in the region this year.
In the two years since it first arrived in the City of Discovery, Gilson Gray has grown its headcount and built up a client base.
Lindsay Darroch, partner and head of Gilson Gray’s Dundee office, said: “The speed of our expansion in the city so far has exceeded expectations and our new base will accommodate a growing team from a location that will never date.
“The move will bring all of our Dundee teams together for the first time, and we expect clients will notice the impact as they benefit from the full range of services we can provide under the same roof.”
Glen Gilson, chair and managing partner of Gilson Gray, added: “We are delighted to have developed such a strong presence in the Dundee market - we intend to grow further rapidly in the region and would invite interested clients and indeed legal talent to get in touch.”
In other office move news, business recovery firm Begbies Traynor has moved from its Glasgow base in West Nile Street to newly-renovated offices in in Bothwell Street.
The firm has signed a lease for a 4,094 sq ft office suite at a former bank branch. It features a large reception area, two meeting rooms and four separate glass offices. There is also a basement providing recreational facilities for staff, including a large kitchen area.
“Having had a base in Glasgow for over 20 years, we were keen to stay in the city centre as it’s convenient for both our clients and colleagues,” explained Ken Pattullo, managing partner for Begbies Traynor in Scotland. “Our new home in Bothwell Street offers the benefits of being a newly renovated office, and, as a ground floor office, it also enjoys a high-profile position.”
