Gillingham chairman Paul Scally has said that 'no credible bids' have been received by the Kent club amid interest from Bolton Wanderers for Kyle Dempsey.
Wanderers have made several additions to the squad already in the January transfer window and more are being worked on.
Dion Charles and Aaron Morley have been added on a permanent basis from Accrington Stanley and Rochdale respectively.

Loan acquisitions have also been made in the form of Marlon Fossey from Fulham and James Trafford from Manchester City.
Further additions in midfield and in the striking department are being sought by Ian Evatt's side ahead of the mid-season transfer window closing at 11pm on Monday, January 31.
Speaking last week, Wanderers boss Ian Evatt confirmed that a second bid had gone in for a midfield player, which is believed to be Dempsey, 26, who is out of contract at Gillingham this summer.
Efforts are also being made to bring in another striker, with a talks over a loan deal for Millwall's Jon Dadi Bodvarsson reported to be progressing.
Evatt had hoped both deals might be done in time for this weekend's away League One clash against Shrewsbury Town, who have themselves strengthened ahead of the game with the addition of midfielder Tyrese Fornah on loan from Nottingham Forest for the remainder of the campaign.
But speaking to KentOnline, Scally said there had been 'no credible bids' for any Gillingham players as of yesterday but anticipates comings and goings by the end of the month.
He added: “There is always interest in our players.
“I am sure we will see a couple in and a couple out, that is bound to happen.”
The Gills are currently without a permanent boss following the departure of Steve Evans.
Steve Lovell is in caretaker charge of the Priestfield outfit at present, who have been granted permission to speak to Bromley manager Andy Woodman over the vacant position.
