Steve Lovell admits there could be more players leaving Gillingham before the end of the January transfer window amid Bolton Wanderers' efforts to land Kyle Dempsey.
Wanderers are targeting one more addition to cap off their excellent transfer window business and have lodged a second bid with the Gills for skipper Dempsey as they aim to add the midfielder to their ranks.
The 26-year-old is approaching the last six months of his contract at Priestfield and would be able to walk away for nothing in the summer as things stand.

The next 36 hours are therefore the last chance that the Gills could have to obtain a transfer fee for their captain.
The Gills sit 23rd in the League One table and are 10 points from safety after yesterday's 7-2 hammering at the hands of Oxford United.
Dempsey played the entire match for the Kent club, who Wanderers travel to at the start of March.
The managerial situation at Priestfield remains up in the air with Lovell in caretaker charge at present following the departure of Steve Evans.
Gills chairman Paul Scally is taking his time in announcing a permanent successor and caretaker Lovell believes a decision needs to be arrived at by tomorrow at the latest.
Speaking after the loss to Oxford, Lovell admitted there could be a few more players exiting the club by end of play tomorrow, albeit did not explicitly name Dempsey or any others as being in that bracket.
But he again stressed he is not aware of any offers made for players and leaves that in the hands of Scally.
Lovell has previously spoken of his desire to keep Dempsey at Priestfield, but believes decisions at the Gills must be made soon on who the club's next permanent boss is going to be and fast.
Lovell said: "There could be a few more going out but I’m not aware of offers. I don’t get into that, it’s what the chairman wants to do. I’ll have my say after today and we’ve always been fair and honest but clarity is important.
"I just want to help this football club and help everybody get out this mess. Hopefully we have enough games to do it but it needs to be done soon.
"We have lists and lists of players that are targets. If I’m here Monday I’ll be working hard to try and get them in. But it needs to be done.
"Everybody at the club needs a lift, including me. That will come with a managerial announcement for me and for them. I don’t know if I will be here on Tuesday, but I think I should know. We need a structure.
"I need direction. I’ll speak to the chairman and I’m going to have to ask him questions because I feel it needs to be done for the sake of everybody, but mainly the players. There have to be changes made by Monday.
“Someone needs to come in soon because the window shuts. If it’s me, I’ll try and get players in but if not they need to come in and help these boys. I’ve had no indication at all.
"I’ve asked Paul Scally and he said it’s on a game-by-game basis. But now, for everybody, give us a bit of clarity on what is going to be done because this can’t go on. If you don’t know who your manager is, how the heck are you going to perform?”
