Gilberto Silva has backed Arsenal to sign Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus this summer.
Mikel Arteta's side are in need of at least one forward, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joining Barcelona earlier this year whilst Alexandre Lacazette is set to depart when his contract expires at the club later this month. football.london understands that Jesus is one name on the north Londoners' shortlist of profiles and technical director Edu has held talks with the player's representatives in recent months.
Now, former Invincibles' midfielder Silva has told the Gunners to try to bring his fellow Brazilian to the Emirates Stadium, claiming that joining Arteta and Co would be a good move for the player's development as well. Speaking about Jesus on talkSPORT, he said: "If he goes to Arsenal I do believe it’s going to be a good move for him, also for Arsenal.

"It’s frustrating for all Arsenal fans and for me, they missed the chance to play in the Champions League after a few years. Let’s see.
"I think Arsenal need to get back to the top of the league’s because it’s so hard to see Arsenal over the last few years not playing in the Champions League, not fighting for the title in the Premier League. I know compared to Man City and Liverpool they aren’t the same level.
"Arsenal must work well to get back to the good times and start to sort the situation out." Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has also previously backed Arsenal's pursuit of the City attacker, claiming that the former Palmeiras man would consistently score goals for Arteta's men.
