The New York Giants were defeated by the New York Jets, 13-10, on Sunday afternoon in an East Rutherford, New Jersey battle.
The two MetLife teams faced off for the first time in a few years and the Giants were unable to get revenge for the last matchup. This game was an ugly defensive battle from the start when Kayvon Thibodeaux forced a strip sack on Zach Wilson.
Thibodeaux would be a key difference-maker the whole game as he was far and away the best player in blue on the day.
Thibodeaux finished the day with 3.0 sacks and a forced fumble as he wreaked havoc all afternoon long. The Oregon product practically lived in the backfield as he also added three tackles for loss on the day to go along with his nine total tackles.
Kayvon’s pressure on Wilson helped carry the defense and kept this game competitive despite the Giants not providing much help on the offensive side of the football.
A late penalty against Thibodeaux did help the Jets get the game into overtime but it never should have come to that in the first place.
