The New York Giants (1-4) will take on the Buffalo Bills (3-2) this Sunday night at Highmark Stadium in their sixth game of the 2023 regular season.
Opening the week, the Giants were 14.5-point road underdogs and that spread has bounced all over since then. As of this writing, it’s back down to +14.5 after briefly ballooning to +16.
How does the Giants Wire staff see this Week 6 battle shaking out? Here’s a look at our picks and score predictions:
Dan Benton: Bills 44, Giants 13
Easiest. Prediction. Ever. The Bills are going to smoke the Giants but the question is by how much. I’ve seen the spread go as high as -16 Buffalo and even that feels like a safe bet.
John Fennelly: Bills 34, Giants 10
No one can possibly believe the Giants have a shot in this game, especially with the two-page injury report they published this week. The Bills have their issues as well but all the stats favor Buffalo in a huge way. One key one: the Bills lead the NFL in sacks and Giants are second in sacks allowed. Buffalo is also averaging 18 points more per game than the Giants. That’s a recipe for disaster. This game will likely be over fast.
Tyler Henry: Bills 44, Giants 17
I would be surprised if the Giants lose by less than 20 in this one. They are just not very good and unfortunately, it’s going to be lopsided when they go up against a powerhouse Super Bowl contender.
A ton of injuries on the Giants’ side makes for a much tougher matchup than it already was.
I expected a similar game to the one we saw against the Dolphins last week, which would have been a much bigger blowout had the Giants not had three takeaways in that one. Brace yourselves, Giants fans. This one is likely to get ugly in a hurry.
Kevin Hickey: Bills 31, Giants 10
No Daniel Jones. No Andrew Thomas. Likely no Saquon Barkley. This was setting up to be a blowout before those injury updates came out. Now, it’s probably going to be a massacre. The Bills have been playing well enough and have enough weapons on offense to make this game a blowout while the Giants offensive line is going to have a lot of trouble containing Von Miller even as he works his way back from a torn ACL. The fact that this game is in prime time will only make matters worse.
Jeevan Kirkland: Bills 37, Giants 13
The Bills are clearly one of the best teams in football despite losing last Sunday in London. Their offense, led by MVP candidate Josh Allen, is one of the best in football and will likely be too much for the Giants’ defense to stop.
Stopping big plays has been a problem all season for Big Blue and with Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis on the other side of the football this could easily turn disastrous. The one hope the Giants do have is the Bills defense is currently plagued with injuries and has one of the worst run defenses.
If Saquon Barkley comes back from injury and the offensive line gets some push for once the Giants can possibly score an offensive touchdown this week to keep things closer.
Serena Burks: Bills 28, Giants 10
At this point, most Giants fans have thrown in the towel. This team looks like the hot mess it is, and the players actually performing on the field continue to drop like flies with injury. It doesn’t mean they won’t turn it around and win some games, but right now there just isn’t a light at the end of the tunnel.
The Bills get angry when they lose, which doesn’t bode well for the Giants this week on top of the Giants losing Jones for the game. But let’s not forget that Tyrod Taylor played for the Bills once upon a time. Bills win, but maybe not as big as we anticipate.
