The New York Giants were defeated by the Buffalo Bills, 14-9, on Sunday night in Orchard Park, New York.
With this loss, the Giants fall to 1-5 and remain last in the NFC East. This puts New York in quite a hole to start the season and potentially in the Caleb Williams sweepstake.
The Giants came out swinging on Sunday Night Football as they went toe to toe with one of the best teams in the NFL. Big Blue was leading for most of the game but Josh Allen and the Bills were able to lead a fourth-quarter comeback.
Despite the result, New York played hard and had some great performances from a few of their players but none better than the player of the game Bobby Okereke.
Okereke had two of the biggest plays in the game in Week 6. In the first quarter, he forced a fumble on a Gabe Davis run after catch. This fumble was recovered by Micah McFadden and set up the first points of the game for the Giants.
At the end of the second half, the linebacker duo came up clutch again with Okereke deflecting a pass and McFadden (again) coming in to clean up the play and get the interception.
However, Okereke was more than his two big plays as he recorded 11 (eight solo) tackles, two tackles for loss, and two passes defensed on the night. He has had a roller-coaster season but seems to finally be coming into his own and proving why the Giants signed him.
