Barkley was injured with 1:08 remaining in the fourth quarter on Sunday and was helped from the field. He was visibly in pain and proceeded to slam his helmet down on the sidelines in frustration.
The Giants will turn to a consortium of Matt Breida, Gary Brightwell and rookie Eric Gray in Barkley’s absence. They can also employ slot receivers, such as Parris Campbell, or a tight end out of the backfield.
Barkley managed to stay healthy for the entire season in 2022 after three seasons interrupted by injuries.
Barkley has been named to the Pro Bowl twice — once as a rookie in 2018 and last season — the two seasons he avoided injuries.
