The New York Giants continued working on in-house free agents late into the day on Monday, re-signing offensive lineman Wyatt Davis, who was an exclusive rights free agent.
A third-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in the 2021 NFL draft, Davis was signed to the team’s practice squad last September after being waived by the Vikes as a part of final cuts.
A week after his initial signing, the New Orleans Saints signed Davis off of the Giants’ practice but waived him a month later. He was promptly picked up by the Arizona Cardinals before again being waived in late December.
After being let go by the Cardinals, Davis was claimed off of waivers by the Giants and would remain with the team through their NFC playoff run.
The 6-foot-4, 315-pounder had a stellar career at Ohio State and was named Rimington–Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2020. Many believed (and still believe) he will make an impact at the NFL level.
With Davis re-signed, all of the Giants’ exclusive rights free agents are accounted for.
