Kenny Golladay, who was signed to perhaps the worst free agent contract in the history of the New York Giants two years ago, has been mercifully waived, opening up approximately $6.7 million in available cap space as the team heads into free agency.

The team made the move official as the new league year began on Wednesday afternoon.
In March of 2021, Golladay, who was a former Pro Bower with the Detroit Lions, was inked to an egregious four-year, $72 million deal which he failed miserably trying to live up to.
In two years with Big Blue, Golladay appeared in 26 games, starting 18, and caught 43 of 93 targets for 602 yards and just one touchdown, which came in the 2022 season finale versus the Philadelphia Eagles.
Golladay ultimately fell out of favor with two different regimes and lacked any sort of explosiveness, seemingly due to a hip injury that previous general manager Dave Gettleman deliberately overlooked.
Despite Golladay’s struggles and injuries, he largely remained professional and didn’t make any waves or cause any issues in the locker room.
The highlight of Golladay’s Giants career is a crushing block against the Minnesota Vikings in the NFC wildcard playoff game.
