Giants NFL power rankings round-up going into Week 5

The New York Giants have once again become the laughingstock of the NFL after falling to 1-3 on the season following an absolutely beating at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks on Monday night.

A year removed from a shocking return to the playoffs, the Giants have regressed to an almost remarkable degree. They are failing in every form and facet, and this season appears destined to go off the rails. Badly.

As we enter Week 5, here’s a look at where the Giants place in a multitude of power rankings.

Nate Davis, USA TODAY:

QB Daniel Jones is 0-for-7 on Monday nights, worst in league history. Also, why is the NFL force feeding us this team in prime time almost every week? It gets worse. Big Blue’s next two are at Miami, followed by (sigh) a Sunday nighter in Buffalo.

Barry Werner, List Wire:

The Giants have been outscored 77-9 in the first half through four weeks. Daniel Jones never had a chance against Seattle.

Jarrett Bailey, Touchdown Wire: 30 (NC)

Jarrett Bailey, Touchdown Wire:

Daniel Jones is just Jeff Driskel with a better agent. The Giants have a trip to Miami next- may God have mercy on their poor, unfortunate souls.

Dalton Miller, Pro Football Network: 28 (-5)

Dalton Miller, Pro Football Network:

The New York Football Giants have struggled so far in 2023. Their offensive line has been a disaster to this point, and they are unable to effectively rush the passer outside of one player on the defensive interior. In addition, they’re forced to start two rookie cornerbacks in a Wink Martindale defense.

Daniel Jones is not playing well, but few quarterbacks would survive in the environment he’s found himself in. It was a miracle he survived a season ago, but the offensive structure around him has disintegrated.

Vinnie Iyer, The Sporting News: 25 (-3)

Vinnie Iyer, The Sporting News:

Daniel Jones seems headed to more of a roller coaster season as tough defenses are still difficult for him, especially with still limited receivers and now no Andrew Thomas or Saquon Barkley. With the Eagles and Cowboys playing so well again, there’s little margin for error left.

Frank Schwab, Yahoo! Sports: 28 (-2)

Frank Schwab, Yahoo! Sports:

The Giants are really bad. It doesn’t seem like they have any plan on offense. Even if they do, they don’t have the playmakers to execute it. Brian Daboll had a very good rookie season as head coach, and it’s too early to wonder if he’s on the Matt Nagy path after winning NFL Coach of the Year his first season … but that at least has to be creeping into Giants’ fans minds.
