The New York Giants were humiliated in Nevada on Sunday, falling to the completely overturned Las Vegas Raiders, 30-6, in a game that wasn’t that close.
Adding injury to insult, quarterback Daniel Jones suffered a torn ACL and was lost for the season. Right tackle Evan Neal also suffered an ankle injury and is expected to miss several weeks.
Every time you think the Giants have hit rock bottom, they find a new way to crush the soul of their fans.

You have to feel for injured QB Daniel Jones. You also have to feel like New York probably has buyer’s remorse after extending him in the offseason. Now they might be one of, say, a dozen teams having to reconsider its QB1 plans going into 2024.

The Giants were destroyed by a terrible team. And the fact Las Vegas had a new coach is no excuse. Big Blue is in deep trouble.

Daniel Jones is done for the year, and New York is firmly in the mix to win the Caleb Williams sweepstakes. All I want from them for the rest of the year is to sign Carson Wentz. If they’re going to stink, at least be chaotic and stink.

Even with Daniel Jones on the field, the game was not looking particularly good for New York against Las Vegas. When Jones left the field with an apparent knee injury, the game was all but over.
Tommy DeVito is nowhere near ready to compete at the NFL level as a quarterback, and if Jones is forced out of the lineup for any significant period, the Giants will need to look at the free agency market because Tyrod Taylor is on injured reserve already.
Nobody has looked worse over a two-week span this season than the Giants have the past two weeks.

The Giants have lost two quarterbacks after seeing better health on the offensive line, receiving corps and backfield. Tommy DeVito and Saquon Barkley can’t win games together alone especially with the defense not being reliable.

The Giants might not win another game the rest of the season given their quarterback situation. But if they completely quit, it’ll mean a lot of skepticism about Daboll going into Year 3.
