Giants lose two scouts following 2023 NFL draft

It’s not uncommon for teams to lose members of their scouting department following the NFL draft and that’s precisely what happened to the New York Giants on Sunday.

Neil Stratton reports that Steven Price, a pro personnel scout, will not return to the Giants and is considering other options.

The Giants hired Price as their pro personnel manager last year after he had spent three seasons with the Houston Texans. He replaced Ken Sternfeld.

Price was dismissed by the Texans last February after Nick Caserio was hired as their new general manager. Prior to his three seasons in Houston, Prince spent time with the Carolina Panthers and Minnesota Vikings.

In addition to Price, college area scout D.J. Boisture, whose father, Tom, was a long-time executive with the team, has parted ways with the Giants.

Boisture had spent the past nine seasons with the Giants, serving as their West Coast scout for seven of those. He initially joined the team as a pro personnel intern during training camp in 2012. He was brought back in the same role a year later and held it through 2015 before being promoted.

Scout turnover is a norm in the NFL following the draft and is not a reflection of their performance leading up to and through the three-day event.
