Giants’ Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll decline to address Brian Flores lawsuit

New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll met with reporters at the NFL Combine on Tuesday and addressed a wide range of topics.

However, one topic neither Schoen nor Daboll would broach is the lawsuit recently filed by Brian Flores, alleging the Giants’ hiring process was discriminatory and that his interview was little more than a “sham.”

Because it’s an ongoing legal situation, it should come as little surprise that Schoen and Daboll would skirt the topic. It’s also an undeniably awkward situation for them given that they’re still in their infant stages with the organization.

Although Schoen and Daboll would not comment, the Giants previously released a statement emphatically denying Flores’ allegations.

“Brian Flores has raised serious issues in the filing of his complaint. The specific claims against the Giants and Mr. Flores’ allegations about the legitimacy of his candidacy for our head coach position are disturbing and simply false,” the team said, in part.

Flores, now with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has vowed to move forward with his lawsuit, which also includes the Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, several other teams and the NFL as a whole.
