The New York Giants were the fifth-worst team record-wise in the NFL last season but after an offseason of major upheaval, they’re apparently moving up.
In ESPN’s latest FPI (Football Power Index) rankings, the Giants are listed at No. 22 with an FPI of -4.1
Considering no games have been played thus far, these rankings are purely speculative. The Buffalo Bills are ranked No. 1 with an FPI of 9.4. The Chicago Bears are last at -13.2.
On the chart, the Giants were ranked 23rd in offense and 27th in defense.
The chart gets updated weekly during the season and will be determined by actual performance. The Giants were rated 29th last season with an FPI of -7.9.
In 2020, the Giants were 26th and in 2019 they finished 30th. The new regime of general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll hope to change that going forward.
