The New York Giants will enter the 2024 NFL draft facing significant outside pressure to select a new quarterback. The belief remains that Daniel Jones isn’t the long-term answer despite general manager Joe Schoen’s apparent commitment.
Early in mock draft season, analysts and experts have not been swayed. Only a select few have thus far mocked a quarterback to the Giants with many others targeting offensive linemen or receivers.
On Friday, NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah released his first mock draft of the year and he continued that trend.
With Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels already off the board, Jeremiah has the Giants taking LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers.
This continues the Giants’ quest from last offseason to add team speed. Nabers is the most explosive wideout in the draft.
Although the top three quarterbacks were off the board, the Nabers pick comes with offensive tackle Joe Alt and tight end Brock Bowers — two other popular mocks to the Giants — still available.
The 6-foot, 200-pound Nabers would give the Giants a little extra size and plenty of extra speed at the wide receiver position. He is projected to run a 4.47 40-yard dash and would be a quality addition alongside Wan’Dale Robinson and Jalin Hyatt.
