The New York Giants are not where they expected to be five games into the season. The offense is among the worst in the NFL in most categories and now starting quarterback Daniel Jones is injured, just compounding the problems.
New York currently holds the No. 6 overall pick and with Jones new contract, we feel like they are locked into him and won’t consider a quarterback in the first round in the 2024 NFL draft. Instead, we opted for the best players on the board early and finished up with a couple of real sleepers for the offense in this four-round mock draft.
First round - EDGE Chop Robinson, Penn State
The Giants opt for an explosive edge rusher in Chop Robinson in the first round to help deal with the top quarterbacks in the division.
Second round - LB Barrett Carter, Clemson
Carter is a rangy inside linebacker who can cover sideline to sideline and be successful as a pass rusher or in coverage and run support.
Third round - WR Malachi Corley, Western Kentucky
Corley isn’t as well known as some of the other receivers in this draft but in the right system, his ability to get yards after the catch will be very valuable.
Fourth round - RB Will Shipley, Clemson
Shipley might not be an every-down back in the NFL but his impact as a receiver and fearlessness in traffic will make him a valuable chess piece for the Giants offense.
