The New York Giants came into their Week 7 matchup against the division rival Washington Commanders hoping to get a win and snap a four-game losing streak.
After jumping out to a 14-0 lead in the first half, the Giants offense was stagnant in the second half. Two turnovers by New York allowed Washington to hang in the game in the second half.
The game came down to Washington’s final drive where Wink Martindale’s defense stood strong, just as they did the entire game.
Here’s how X, formerly known as Twitter, reacted.
Big time stand by the defense! Giants ball!

It wasn’t pretty by any means but the Giants get that vaunted 2nd win of the season.
Special kudos to this Giants defense bringing the intensity and physicality from the opening play.
The offense was well the Giants offense. But today 14 points was enough. #NYGiants… pic.twitter.com/63xtL2FTZt

It was messy, but a W is a W.
How are we feeling, Giants, fam? #NYGiants

Good win. I think once Dimes and Thomas get back this could be a different team. Easy schedule coming up too. Let’s stack some W’s.

The #Giants have fumbled a punt inside their own 15, dropped the easiest walk in pick six you’ll ever see & fumbled on offense inside the WAS 15 all in one game.

Brian Daboll did a great job keeping his composure when things didn't go right today.

I cannot believe we pulled that off but I can at least be happy it’s a win! #nygiants

Never complain about winning in the #NFL. Giants made that way closer than it should have been but a win is a win. Nice job #NYGiants

Or they can. Never seen that, but whatever it takes. Giants improve to 2-5 thanks to an amazing defensive performance.

Good to know that the Giants can still beat this perenially mediocre Washington team!
I'll take it.#giants #Commanders #NYGvsWAS

#Giants win ugly. I’ll take it. Now beat the Jets next week. Woohoo.
