The New York Giants will host the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey this Sunday and although they are getting healthier, will still be down several key players.
One of those players will be quarterback Daniel Jones, who will miss his third straight game due to a neck injury.
“I’d just say we are on this week, and we will see what happens next week,” head coach Brian Daboll told reporters. “He’s getting better. He’s getting better.
“He’s throwing, he feels better every day. He’s done a good job here of the things that he can do out here on the practice field and take it one day at a time. But he’s getting closer.”
Daboll refused to answer when asked if Jones would play again this season, reminding members of the media that he’s already addressed that. The coach previously said that DJ would play again this year.
This time, however, Daboll did not seem very affirmative. It’s a storyline to keep an eye on.
In addition to Jones, the Giants also ruled out running back Gary Brightwell.
