Giants awarded Global Markets Program rights for Germany

The New York Giants are pioneers in the NFL with it comes to international exposure. They were the first team to ever play outside the United States in 1950. In 1994 they took part in the famous American Bowl in Germany, a preseason game against the Chargers. Eli Manning became the first player to score a touchdown in the first ever International Series game in London in 2007.

On top of that, the Giants have long employed players of various backgrounds. Michael Strahan grew up on Germany. Graham Gano is from Scotland. Osi Umenyiora is Nigerian and grew up in the UK. There are plenty more, so it’s only fitting that the Giants were awarded Global Markets Program rights for Germany for 2024.

From the press release, “The Giants will kick-off their marketing rights in Germany in April during the 2024 NFL Draft. On April 27th, Day 3 of the NFL Draft, the team will announce their draft pick live from Germany with a collection of fans and alumni. The Giants also recently announced their International Fan of the Year, a German native who was surprised with a video message from Legend Eli Manning and a trip to attend the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit.”

Clubs awarded rights through the Global Markets Program can activate in their market for a five-year term. Starting April 1, the Giants can make themselves known in Germany.
