Giants’ Adoree’ Jackson: Brian Daboll, Wink Martindale were great actors

If there was a rift between New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll and his now-departed defensive coordinator Wink Martindale, it basically went undetected to their players.

“It’s not like I saw any disposition in the body language that would display that there was something wrong,” cornerback Adoree’ Jackson said on his weekly spot on WFAN on Monday. “Me seeing that…it was shocking to see (Wink) just left like that.

“Seeing them in our meetings or on the field and talking, maybe they can win an Oscar. Because if there was a problem, they did a good job acting and showing that there wasn’t one.”

Jackson might be the one in line for an Oscar in this situation. The Giants beat pool as well as the public all saw the signs of the deterioration of the relationship between Daboll and Martindale and had been buzzing about it for weeks.

Martindale and Daboll had a blow-up right before this interview which would eventually lead to Martindale’s resignation — or “parting of ways” as the Giants called it.

Daboll fired two of Martindale’s most trusted assistants — brothers Drew and Kevin Wilkins — which set off the confrontation. Martindale stormed out of the facility and the two parties officially divorced on Wednesday.
