Las Vegas Strip residencies have become huge extravaganzas that often sell out months ahead of performances.
Superstar singer Lady Gaga returned to the Strip for a variation of her previous "Enigma + Jazz & Piano" engagement when she staged her "Jazz + Piano" 12-show residency at MGM Resorts International's (MGM) -) Dolby Live at the Park MGM which began Aug. 31 and concluded on Oct. 5. The sold-out "The Jazz + Piano" shows featured songs from the Great American Songbook as well as stripped down versions of her own hits performed in jazz style.

At her Sept. 7 performance, Lady Gaga told the audience that she wanted a permanent residency at Dolby Live, so fans can keep an eye on the Park MGM website for any new shows. Currently, no future Lady Gaga shows are listed.
Popular singer Adele has already made her mark on the Strip as she has extended her "Weekends With Adele" residency from an original 24 dates to 100 dates over time at Caesars Entertainment's (CZR) -) Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The "Hello" singer has added 32 more weekend shows from Jan 19, 2024, to June 15, 2024 and she has said those be her final shows.
Superstar rock band U2 opened the amazing Las Vegas Sphere on Sept. 29 for its U2/UV Achtung Baby Live at the Sphere residency with great interest and excitement with music greats in attendance, including Paul McCartney, Jon Bon Jovi, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Katy Perry. Sphere owner Sphere Entertainment (SPHR) -), however, would finish its first quarter a day later and report a quarterly operating loss of $98.4 million. Despite some bad financial news, the show still must go on.

U2 extends its Sphere residency adding 4 final shows
U2 originally planned a 25-show residency, which it later expanded to 36 shows that was set to conclude on Feb. 18. The legendary band kept selling out show after show and decided to extend the residency, adding four final shows on the residency for an even 40 dates. U2 has added the last shows on Feb. 23, 24, March 1 and March 2, according to a Dec. 4 statement.
Tickets for the final shows go on sale to the general public Dec. 8 at 11 a.m. Pacific time at Ticketmaster.com. In an effort to avert ticket scalping, minimize resale and keep ticket prices at face value for fans, the band has restricted the transfer of general admission floor tickets for the residency and deemed that tickets may only be resold at the original purchase price.
Ticket buyers who are unable to attend their show will be able to sell their tickets at the price they paid using Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange.
U2 offers exclusive VIP riser tickets
U2 will also sell 50 tickets for each show for fans to watch the show from an exclusive (RED) Zone VIP riser that will benefit non-profit organization (RED), formed by Bono and Bobby Shriver in 2006 to fight AIDS and the injustices that enables pandemics to thrive.
Hotel packages and VIP experiences are available through Live Nation's affiliate Vibee. The hospitality packages include premium concert seating with priority entry to Sphere and hotel rooms at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas. The Premium VIP package includes limited edition U2 memorabilia, luxury airport shuttle service, and access to Tao group nightclubs.
Bono, Edge and Adam Clayton will again be joined by drummer Bram van den Berg, who has sat in for Larry Mullen Jr. while he has been recovering from neck surgery. Hopefully, Mullen will return to the band if it extends its residency months down the road.
