Giant Preuss handed another AFL suspension

GWS ruckman Braydon Preuss has been hit with his third AFL suspension of the year, this time for a dangerous tackle on the Western Bulldogs' Tim English.

Preuss slung English to the ground in a tackle during the Giants' 20-point loss on Saturday night, causing his opponent's head to hit the turf.

The match review officer assessed the action as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

Preuss was already likely to be sidelined for the round 15 clash with Collingwood because of an ankle injury but is now almost certain to miss.

The Giants have until Monday to decide whether they will challenge the ban.

Preuss' latest suspension comes after he was banned for a dangerous tackle on Magpies ruckman Brodie Grundy during pre-season.

He was then suspended for striking Fremantle midfielder David Mundy in round four.

Sydney ruckman Peter Ladhams has also been dealt a one-match suspension after being cited for striking former teammate Ollie Wines.

Ladhams had a horror outing at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, with two brain-snaps costing the Swans goals as Port Adelaide snared a 23-point win.

The worst of them came when Ladhams punched Wines in the ribs with his right fist as he lay on top of the Power star after laying a tackle.

The blow was assessed by the match review officer as intentional conduct, medium impact and body contact.

Ladhams will miss the Swans' clash with top-eight rivals St Kilda at the SCG on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, West Coast forward Willie Rioli was handed a $2000 fine for striking Geelong defender Sam De Koning.
