The storm, which arrived just in time for Christmas, is now making its way towards the northeast, bringing with it a deluge of rain expected to soak the region in the days leading up to New Year's Eve.
According to meteorologists, this colossal storm system has been wreaking havoc as it moves across the middle of the country. While it has started to taper off, there is still a chance of light snow in some areas. The gusty winds that accompany this wintry onslaught have not yet subsided, with gusts reaching up to a bone-chilling 60 to 70 miles per hour. Although the wind intensity has decreased slightly, gusts of up to 30 miles per hour are still expected, creating breezy conditions and the formation of snow drifts.
