Florida homeowners were rudely awakened by a “home intruder” in the middle of the night - a nine-foot alligator who had climbed into their pool.
Bodycam footage shared by Tampa Police Department shows an officer and a trapper trying to remove the giant reptile as it thrashed around in the water during its “solo swim”.
The force said it was initially called out to reports of a potential human burglar on 29 March. “Turned out to be a Florida-style uninvited guest,” it said.
The officer and the trapper eventually managed to remove the alligator and the “residents to finally enjoy some well-deserved, gator-free sleep”.
