The NBA in-season tournament is in its inaugural season, meaning the winning team will have an upper hand on legends that came before them.
At least, that’s what Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo believes.
As Antetokounmpo explained to reporters on Wednesday, six-time NBA champion Michael Jordan will never have “in-season tournament champion" on his career resume.
“Whoever’s gonna win this thing is gonna have one-up on Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kobe, Shaq,” Antetokounmpo said. “So, I guess I’m better than them.”
The Bucks star began laughing and quickly clarified that he was joking.

Antetokounmpo currently has one NBA title, two NBA MVP awards and one Finals MVP award to his name. He’s hoping the Bucks will capture the first NBA Cup on Saturday to add to his list of accomplishments.
First, the Bucks face the Pacers on Thursday at 5 p.m. ET in the semifinals. If the Bucks win, they will face the winners of the Pelicans-Lakers game in the final on Saturday in Las Vegas.
