A paranormal investigator has shared an audio recording in which he claims a ghost whispers, "I have stabbed her". Andrew Pollard, 49, from Rotherham in South Yorkshire says he captures the voices of spirits using electronic devices.
As reported by Yorkshire Live, his most recent reported confrontation was at a famous haunted castle in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. The 49-year-old father of two, who runs a YouTube channel called Yorkshire Ghost Guy, says he recorded a ghost there saying, "I have stabbed her".
Although he didn't hear it at the time, he says he found the audio while playing it back at home. "A recent visit to Spofforth Castle in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, proved rather intriguing," he said.
"Not heard at the time, I believe that a woman clearly says 'I have stabbed her'. I captured this on audio but only heard it during playback."
On another creepy quest, to Matlock, in Derbyshire, Mr Pollard captured a flying light that moved past him at speed, and he also believes that was a ghost. He said he finds the discoveries fascinating and hopes to keep hunting for other ghosts.
He said: "The one place I would like to return to would be Rufford Abbey in Nottinghamshire. A very active and unnerving place, I’d like to return simply to see if it’s still as creepy as I remembered it."
Mr Pollard, who began investigating ghosts after his father died in 2003, says he has been confronted by ghosts a few times. And despite joining some ghost hunting groups 10 years ago, he now predominantly seeks spooks on his own.
He said: "I’ve always had an interest in the paranormal but the death of my father in 2003 really drew me into the field. I read quite a lot on spiritualism and to be honest couldn’t really get it, there was one chapter in one of the books I read though that did draw my attention."
He added: "Spirit communication through electronic devices is known as EVP or electronic voice phenomena. It’s claimed that voices of the dead can be captured on dictaphones, tape recorders and other numerous devices.
"I began recording at home with some initial success. I then joined my first paranormal group Northern Ghosts in 2012.
"I’ve been involved with a number of groups over the years but I now work pretty much alone. I have however been lucky enough to be joined on some of my recent outings by like-minded people."
