GFP writes to vigilance, demands probe in U-17 Women’s FIFA World Cup event managament contract

PANAJI: Goa Forward Party has filed a complaint with the Directorate of Vigilance calling for a probe into the event management contract for the U-17 Women's FIFA World Cup 2022.

GFP functionary Vikas Bhagat said that Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) manipulated due process while appointing Rajashree Creations as the event management agency for the 2022 U-17 Women's FIFA World Cup.

“We request you to kindly call for the entire file with regards to Event Management Agency for U-17 Women's FIFA World Cup 2022 and investigate the same and culprits should be booked for their fraudulent act,” said Bhagat.

Bhagat directly blames SAG’s technical section. He alleged that the agency filed “manipulated bills” which the former SAG director refused to certify.

“Subsequently the then director was shunted out from SAG,” said Bhagat. “We have also learnt that an amount of Rs 35 Lakhs has been released to Wisehawks Solutions towards FIFA U-17 host city logo launch without even SAG certifying the bills.”

The 2022 FIFA U17 Women's was held across three states; Odhisa, Goa and Maharashtra (Navi Mumbai) in October.
