While the grind may put off some who try to make a career out of sports journalism, being privileged to tell some of the most compelling stories in sports keeps others around.
Some go the traditional route with a journalism program at an esteemed school, while others find their way into the field via non-traditional media. The latter was the case for Bobby Manning, host of the CLNS Media “Garden Report” podcast. How did he become one of the youngest journalists on the Boston Celtics beat? Manning recently stopped by the CLNS “First to the Floor” podcast to discuss going from fan to established reporter, developing player relationships, the future of sports journalism, and more.
Check out the clip embedded below to hear what Manning had to say about the gig, its rewards, and its challenges.
