Manchester City fans are split in opinion on the news that Everton have received an apology from the PGMOL after the Toffees were denied a penalty against City.
Phil Foden's goal on 82 minutes allowed Pep Guardiola 's side to bounce back from a disappointing week in which they suffered defeat at Tottenham Hotspur and saw Liverpool cruise to a 6-0 win over Leeds United. But the game did not go without controversy with Everton left fuming over the match officials' inability to award them a penalty when City's Rodri handled the ball inside the penalty box after Foden's goal.
Footage shown at the time appeared to show the Man City defensive midfielder controlling the ball with his upper arm just below the line of his shirt, thus being a handball. Match referee Paul Tierney and VAR referee Chris Kavanagh both dismissed the Everton appeals despite a lengthy review.
