'Get him to Liverpool' - Fans make transfer demand over World Cup midfield hero

Sofyan Amrabat has impressed Liverpool fans with his fantastic performance during Morocco's win over Spain at the World Cup.

The Fiorentina midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Serie A side in recent weeks and a possible move to Liverpool has been mentioned.

Jurgen Klopp is looking at possible options to bring into his squad to improve the midfield with Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham being the number one target.

Sky Sports Germany's Florian Plettenberg expects Amrabat to leave Fiorentina in the January transfer window.

Tweeting after tonight's game, which Morocco won in a 3-0 penalty shootout victory, he said: "Fantastic match! What a WC performance so far. Been told that Gullit & Advocaat tried to convince him to play for [Holland] years ago. But Amrabat, born in Huizen, decided to play for Morocco. Open to leave Fiorentina in the winter. Expected price: more than £30 million."

Plettenberg recently revealed he had “been told that many clubs from the Premier League observing Amrabat, especially Liverpool (next to Bellingham & Caicedo).”

This evening, plenty of Reds fans took to social media to praise the 26-year-old in the hope to see him at Anfield some day soon.

During the game, one Liverpool follower tweeted: "Amrabat has won 7 out of 7 possible ground duels. Get him to Liverpool."

The Moroccan would be "perfect" for Liverpool according to one supporter on Twitter: "Amrabat would be perfect for Liverpool, very similar profile to Henderson. Top player."

Another added: "Sofyan Amrabat would be my preferred 'Fabihno' position signing for Liverpool." A third said: "Sofyan Amrabat MOTM. Has been everywhere on the pitch. Top, top player."

A fourth Kopite posted: "Would love to see Amrabat at Liverpool. Bossed that midfield against Spain." While another added: "I would take that Amrabat any day. He can run two days without stopping. I hope Liverpool will go for him".
