Get £40 off an air fryer as Iceland launches first aisle dedicated to the gadget

Iceland Foods has pioneered the world’s first air fryer aisle in The Food Warehouse with the potential for nationwide expansion on the horizon.

Iceland Foods and energy supplier Utilita carried out comprehensive research around air fryer usage in the UK and found one in two Brits have either personally bought an air fryer or someone in their household has in the last five years.

More than half of Brits cook with their air fryer multiple times a week and one in five use it every day.

The aisle will be piloted from Monday, June 19 until Sunday, June 25 and includes over 287 food items that can be cooked in an air fryer, ranging from Greggs Sausage Rolls to Aunt Bessie’s Bacon Chicken Crown.

Richard Walker, Executive Chairman of Iceland Foods & The Food Warehouse said: "We pride ourselves on knowing exactly what our customers coming through our store doors are looking for, matching their changing shopping trends with fresh ideas. Introducing the world’s first air fryer aisle at our Food Warehouse is another exciting example. As the popularity of air fryer cooking grows, this aisle will give customers easy access to products that work perfectly in this time and energy saving cooking appliance.”

Utilita Energy’s latest research has revealed that oven default households can make a £202 saving by switching to more energy efficient cooking appliances.

Archie Lasseter, Head of Sustainability at Utilita csaid: “The popularity of the air fryer is something we should all celebrate as a nation - this simple shift from one cooking appliance to another is helping households to reduce their cooking-related carbon emissions substantially. Behaviour change plays a role in almost two-thirds of emissions reductions, which makes Iceland’s dedicated air fryer aisle extremely valuable. By making it quicker and easier for households to select foods that can be cooked in an air fryer, Iceland is helping us to avoid the power-hungry oven.

“At Utilita we are extremely motivated by Iceland’s efforts to help its customers use less energy, and we continue to invite other supermarkets to follow suit, using our cost to cook research.”

Those who can’t make it to the London store to enjoy the air fryer aisle can still benefit, because in The Food Warehouse stores, Iceland will be deducting the cost of a weekly shop off their air fryer. If shoppers spend £40 in-store at The Food Warehouse, they’ll be able to take home the Daewoo 8L Double Drawer Air fryer for just £75 (usually £119.99). Available until stocks last.
