Geraldo Bajrami talks Notts County form, goals and facing West Ham

Geraldo Bajrami has highlighted the importance of grasping opportunities at Notts County as his impressive form continues under Luke Williams.

The Albanian had to be patient for regular game time with the Magpies, but the 23-year-old has become an integral part of Notts' latest unbeaten run, starting the last four games in midfield following Jim O'Brien's absence through injury.

His versatility has been a huge asset in the opening 16 games of the season, operating in midfield and as part of the back three this campaign.

The Albanian has also added goals to his game, finding the back of the net against Torquay on Saturday afternoon.

After being credited for Notts' sixth goal against Wealdstone at Grosvenor Vale, Bajrami was quick to rubbish rumours that it was an own goal, saying: "Yeah, 100%! It was going on target for anyone that is wondering. It took a little bit of a deflection, and it went in, so I am happy.

"It came off me last, I don't know what you're on about! It's two in two."

It was another brilliant performance in the Magpies midfield, forming a brilliant understanding alongside Matty Palmer as O'Brien returns to fitness.

But rather than focusing on his own performances, Bajrami highlighted both Connell Rawlinson and Aden Baldwin following their returns to the side, explaining the importance of taking chances due to the competition for places at Notts.

"Every time I think I have played, I have done well," said Bajrami.

"The gaffer has rotated us and everyone that has come in and done well.

"When you look at Connell and the way he has stepped in for Aden, he has been faultless. Aden has come back in for his first game in a while, and he was faultless too.

"I think the players know that when they get that opportunity to come on, they have to make the most of it because everyone is on fire at the moment."

The midfielder made the jump from the National League North in the summer, joining from Kidderminster Harriers along with Sam Austin.

When asked about the step up to the National League, Bajrami explained that he never doubted his ability and used his experience in Kiddie's FA Cup tie against West Ham last year as an example to further but those lingering doubts to bed.

"I never doubted myself, even if you shot me up to play with the big boys, I will give my all.

"I have never doubted my ability, last season at Kidderminster we played against West Ham and none of us were scared, so I'm not short on confidence in that department."
