Georgia Bulldogs freshman wide receiver C.J. Smith turned heads with his explosiveness in 2023. Now, Smith is entering the NCAA transfer portal. The speedy wide receiver will have three years of eligibility left at his new school.
Smith came to Georgia as a four-star recruit in the class of 2022. He redshirted in 2022 before having a larger role this past season. Smith played in nine games in 2023. This season, he recorded six catches for 116 yards and had one rush for four yards.
Georgia brought in a pair of transfer wide receivers this offseason, so it is understandable Smith is looking to go elsewhere for more playing time. Georgia has already had wide receivers Jackson Meeks and Mekhi Mews enter the transfer portal this offseason.
