In an unexpected and alarming event in Central Georgia, a middle school teacher is now facing severe accusations for allegedly threatening to behead a Muslim student. The threatening comment emerged after the student voiced her discomfort about an Israeli flag displayed in the classroom. The accusation against 51-year-old social studies teacher, Benjamin Reese, at Warner Robins Middle School, is supported by multiple witnesses, both staff, faculty, and students.
According to a detailed incident report from a Houston County Sheriff's deputy, numerous adults and students heard Reese broadcast an array of profane and threatening remarks at three young girls in the hallway. The accused educator allegedly used extremely harsh language, including statements such as, 'She is a stupid mother [expletive]. I will drag her by the back of my car and cut her [expletive] head off for disrespecting my Jewish flag.' He reportedly also threatened the girls by saying he would slit their throats and physically harm them.
In an interview conducted for the incident report, all three girls reported the same sequence of events. One of them, a 13-year-old Muslim student of Palestinian descent, informed that she did not approve of the Israeli flag hanging in the classroom, a statement that apparently provoked Reese. After voicing her opinion, the teacher reportedly began labeling her as anti-Semitic and led a startling chase, culminating in the public making of the erroneous threats.
The Houston County School District has confirmed that Reese has not returned to campus since the incident on December 7th, emphasizing student safety as their top priority. An investigation into this matter is in progress, and as of yet, no comments have been made on behalf of Reese and his legal representation is not known. The Georgia chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations has been alerted and they are currently monitoring the situation closely.
