Georgia signee named Maxwell Award High School Defensive Player of the Year

Georgia Mykel Williams

Georgia football early enrollee Mykel Williams has been named High School Defensive Player of the Year by the Maxwell Award.

Williams, out of Hardaway High School in Columbus, Ga., dominated in his senior season, racking up 81 tackles, 20.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks.

The five-star recruit made his impact felt in all-star games and practices before joining the Bulldogs in January.
