Georgia Bulldogs leading rusher Daijun Edwards has declared for the 2024 NFL draft. Edwards was a crucial part of the Georgia offense as he shared the running back duties with Kendall Milton. He and Milton are heading to the NFL.
Edwards is a Georgia native who came to the Bulldogs in 2020 as a four-star recruit. Along with Milton, Edwards waited his turn and eventually found himself in the fold during his junior season.
Edwards totaled 2,083 yards and 24 touchdowns during his Georgia career. In 2023, he had 881 yards and 13 touchdowns. These stats help put him at 14th all time on the Georgia rushing leaders, which is one spot ahead of Zamir White. Edwards was also Georgia’s top receiving back for the 2023 college football season.
Edwards helped Georgia win two national championships with his shifty moves and excellent vision. Edwards will likely be one of the more underrated running backs to pass through Athens. He was one of the Dawgs that scored a touchdown in the 63-3 beat down of Florida State in the Orange Bowl.
The Bulldogs will look to replace his production with in house options like Branson Robinson, Andrew Paul and Roderick Robinson. The Bulldogs also have top running back recruit Nate Frazier coming in. Georgia also welcomes in Florida transfer Trevor Etienne.
We wish Daijun luck at the next level.
