The 4-0 Georgia Bulldogs remain the No. 1 team in the College Sports Wire power rankings. Georgia is getting a lot of credit for being defending back-to-back national champions.
The Bulldogs still have to prove themselves after as easy start to the year. Georgia’s first road game of the 2023 college football season will come on Sept. 30 against the Auburn Tigers.

Allowing 21 points to a UAB team coached by Trent Dilfer wasn’t exactly ideal, nor was yet another sluggish start by the Bulldogs, but we’ll give them a pass considering they still won 49-21. While this team may not be as good as the last two squads in Athens, it’s hard to be too critical while its nation-leading 21-game win streak is still active.
Georgia is getting strong quarterback play out of Carson Beck, who is showing improvement. Beck scored four total touchdowns and will make his first career road start this week against Auburn.
Injuries are piling up for the Bulldogs. Georgia was without preseason All-SEC picks in defensive end Mykel Williams, offensive tackle Amarius Mims, wide receiver Ladd McConkey, running back Kendall Milton, and safety Javon Bullard against UAB.
